Johanne Blouin first crossed paths with Vic Vogel when she was just three years old. It was during a visit to the Blouin’s parents’ home, as they too were jazz musicians. She never would have thought that years later, she would record with this man and his top-notch ensemble. One of the finest in his field, Vic Vogel is a masterful pianist as well as arranger; each of the fifteen standards, in fact, were crafted by his concise pen and unpredictable imagination.

Jazz has never been far from Johanne Blouin’s mind, and has always informed her art, but never so much as on this superb recording. “I tried to forget what I knew and instead chose to simply follow my gut feelings. The album’s title is telling: Vic Vogel really brought out the singer in me, more than ever.” Until I Met You is, above all, imbued with a profound energy. “The chemistry between Vic and I is perfect,” adds the singer.
