Album DetailsComposer and tenor saxophonist Yannick Rieu is one of the finest musicians to have emerged from Québec, and one who’s also enjoyed an international career for many years, particularly in France.
This new recording, captured live in Paris last December, 2006, features Rieu’s trio, with bassist Nicolas Rageau and drummer Philippe Soirat at the club “Les 7 Lézards.” The repertoire is comprised of originals by Rieu as well as standards, including Sonny Rollins’ “Freedom Suite/1st Part,” a work by a composer and player Rieu holds in particularly high esteem.
