After three consecutive critically-acclaimed solo piano recordings, John Stetch returns to the trio format – his first group recording in six years. Featuring bassist Sean Smith and drummer Rodney Green, John Stetch continues to demonstrate his mastery of touch and fluidity in a very ‘live’ sounding recording made at Bear Tracks Studios in Suffern, NY. Stetch, a native of Edmonton residing in upstate New York, reclaims his ground as one of the most inventive improvisers of his generation. Stetch’s boldly interactive trio, each track exploding with brilliance, zest, and the clarity of its execution, interprets eleven adventurous yet catchy originals. Throughout the set, each passionately vigorous solo fascinates in its architectural logic - a miniature composition in itself.

The eleven tracks encapsulate everything that Stetch loves about the entire history of the jazz piano trio—delivered through the prism of his unique vision. Driving, rhythmic, melodic and humorous, Stetch’s compositions inspire a magical synergy between the musicians, who clearly are committed to the creative, swinging spirit of jazz.
