Album DetailsSue Foley is one of Canada’s finest blues/roots artists, and brings an appealing rock n’ roll edge to her unique sound. Still only in her mid-thirties, the Ottawa native has worked with John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Buddy Guy, Joe Cocker, Tom Petty, The Neville Brothers, Jonny Lang and many others throughout her impressive twenty-year career.
An accomplished guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist, Sue was presented with the Juno Award in for Best Blues Album in 2001; a record-setting seventeen Maple Blues Awards; three Trophée France Blues Awards (for International Female Guitarist of the Year); and a 2003 WC Handy Award nomination.
New Used Car, Foley’s tenth album, proves that she is only picking up speed. Her trademark vocals and renowned guitar-playing highlight an upbeat and vibrant album that not only showcases an artist with an incredible history but also one who continues to gain momentum as the wheels keep turning.
It powers out of the lot with the title track and cruises down the road with the smooth sounds of "When I Come Back to Ya", the Stonesy "Do It Again", the soulful "Absolution" and eight more stand out tracks that stretch the boundaries of contemporary blues.
