This specially-priced collection, comprised of material from the four studio recordings made in her lifetime, celebrates the life and work of Trudy Desmond, a singer whose simple yet heartfelt delivery touched many people. Trudy excelled at upholding the tradition, the rare, fine art of singing what she considered to be the greatest songs ever written, largely from the Great American Songbook. Trudy also loved unearthing rarely-heard songs that deserve to be standards (“You Better Love Me”). Listening to Trudy’s recorded oeuvre, it was difficult to choose the best tracks, as there were so many strong candidates. It’s our hope that this collection will draw attention to a somewhat overlooked, very talented woman who, although she left much too early, left a lot behind.
