Simon’s Denizart’s fifth album ‘Piece of Mind’ proves to be his most innovative yet, with influences borrowed from jazz, classical and electronic music. Always sensitive to developing new sounds and sonorities with the piano, Simon offers solid melodic and rhythmic playing. ‘Piece of Mind’ is an orchestral work in eight scenes, designed to take the listener on a powerful introspective journey. The album evokes a duality between inner peace and a form of emotional intimacy. It is an invitation to explore one’s inner space. For the recording Simon brought together the musicians who have inspired him the most over the past thirteen years that he has lived in Quebec and with whom he has developed a friendship that goes beyond music; and with the addition of a string trio, the listener is transported into the cinematic universe of the French pianist/composer.
